CineBooth: Short Collections 6 (18)

CineBooth returns to The Arthouse with six bold short films. Dark comedy, razor-sharp drama, and the strange in between. From band breakdowns in 92 to spirals of paranoia on live TV, fractured hookups, and fame-hungry egos, this collection doesn’t blink.

This sixth edition of Short Collections brings a fresh lineup of standout shorts. Funny, intense, unsettling and unforgettable.

We open with 92 by Andrew McDermott and Simon Fisher. It’s 1992, and a band is trying to record their first album. Tensions rise in the studio as clashing egos and creative conflict threaten to tear the group apart before they’ve even begun.

Next is Yes, Daddy by GG Hawkins. A woman dissociates during a hookup, triggering a surreal dive into shame, vulnerability and the emotional armour we wear to survive. Dark, sharp and unexpectedly funny.

Next is I’m Interesting I Swear by Shir Ariya, writer of the Oscar-nominated short The Bull. A self-obsessed writer tries to pitch herself to the world, only to be constantly upstaged by the chaos unfolding around her.

The Comeback by Gabriele Toresani follows two former TV stars preparing for their big return. But as old tensions surface backstage, one of them spirals into paranoia. Claustrophobic and unsettling, it has won at FIPILI Horror Festival and was nominated at TOHorror.

We close the night with Dollface by Louis Paxton, returning to CineBooth after previous favourites like Tippy Toes, Nevile Is Dead and Satan Has a Bushy Tail. Paxton brings his signature chaos and dark humour in this twisted final act.

The running time of the event will be 90 minutes, which includes a 20 minute interval.
