Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side) and inspired by author Salman Rushdie’s bestselling memoir Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder, this profoundly personal documentary explores Rushdie’s life, career and recovery following a harrowing assassination attempt in 2022.
The film includes never-before-seen footage shot by Rushdie’s wife, American poet, novelist and visual artist Rachel Eliza Griffiths, in the time following the attack offering an unflinching and deeply intimate account of his remarkable recovery and optimism for the future.
Following the screening there will be a recorded Q&A between director Alex Gibney, producer Rachel Eliza Griffiths and writer Salman Rushdie.
